Schools
We BELIEVE that there are different ways of LEARNING!
Schools visiting Tinkersjòp
Tinkersjòp aids the educational system by giving children the opportunity:
- to experience the hands-on/ active learning concept through the experiments;
- to work with the STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum;
- to work with NEMO’s Science Museum’s MAAKKUNDE methodology.
We motivate children to see SCIENCE in a different way!
Tinkersjòp responds to two educational areas in the Foundation based education. These are “Human, Nature, & Technology” and “Arithmetic & Mathematics” .
The following is an overview of the subjects covered:
Human, nature, and technology
Recognize basic technology (#10)
Recognize technological functions (#11)
Recognize technological influences (#12)
Follow and implement simple research (#13)
Recognize functions of research (#14)
Implement simple research data (#15)
Arithmetic and mathematics
Measure (4)
Geometry (5)
Due to the degree of difficulty of the experiments set out in Tinkersjòp, only children of the foundation based education from group 5 (8-years-old children) and older, are invited.
Tinkersjòp provides space for students to carry out the practical side of the learning domains such as “natural phenomena”, “technology”, and “basic skills” with the experiments offered. The students not only recognize the phenomena “energy” and “movement”, but they also experience the function and influence of technology, and they can apply basic research.
We inspire & motivate our future students in STREAM subjects, so they’ll become more interested in science subjects.
