Collaboration

Together we are stronger!

Tinkersjòp seeks continuously partnerships with organizations, which have the same drive and vision on applied science education.

NEMO Science Museum is collaborating with Tinkersjòp on TINKERING in Curaçao.

Tinkersjòp receives from NEMO:

  • advice,
  • guidance,
  • and training.

In the first round, all teachers and guests received training specifically focused on tinkering in practice. And in the second round all focus was on the Maakkunde methodology

With help from NEMO, tinkering will be introduced in all areas of Curaçao.

Jolly Zone is a radio program dedicated to young and old. They:

  • educate,
  • inform,
  • talk about different topics of interest.

We collaborate in regards of SCIENCE, where we:

  • give weekly challenges,
  • show our making
  • and explain the science behind the challenge.

Listen and watch every Saturday morning from 8.00-10.00 at TCFM (93.3) or channel 26 at TDS, or Channel 3of the digitalbox.

The foundation “Desaroyo i Progreso” provides after-school activities to:

  • 22 schools,
  • with approximately 2.000 children.

We started a collaboration with this foundation, because we wanted to introduce SCIENCE, TINKERING, & STREAM to as many children as possible, through their afterschool teachers.

We trained the teachers in:

  • the “Maakkunde” methodology,
  • and Tinkering.

We are collaborating since 2018 with the University of Curaçao to promote STREAM among youngsters, starting with elementary schools.

Both teachers and students of both the Faculty of Arts & the Faculty of Engineering supports Tinkersjòp in:

  • Knowledge transfer,
  • Support,
  • Development of experiments,
  • Teaching programs,
  • and Activities.

We are doing a test trial with the elementary school “Römerschool“, where we introduce a two day STREAM-day. This collaboration gives us the opportunity to evaluate the activity and perform it on a full-scale, once finished.
